Sisbov: list of farms to be published by MAPA instead of the EU commission
The list of cattle farms accredited for export to the EU will be published by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture (MAPA). This is a positive development for Brazil but it won't change the fundamentals: Sisbov has successfully restricted market access and the EU consumer now pays more for beef. My understanding is the list is likely to shrink further before stabilising, as only large farms may continue to pay to keep their certification valid. What remains to be seen is the direction the "EU premium" will take.
